We had gotten the exterior massing as a typical shopping mall elevation; with the first-floor slab jutting out as cantilever. After much convincing, the client agreed to have the cantilever removed so that the massing would give a grand double height entrance to the store. The mass of the structure was itself bulky, and we used brick on the façade to reduce the scale visually.
